The scientific name of watermelon is “Citrullus lanatus“. Basically, watermelon fruits are native to Kalahari Desert (Southern Africa) which are cultivated first of all in the Egypt. It is an excellent desert fruit and its juice contain 92% water along with proteins, minerals and carbohydrates. Watermelon crop is one of the warm and long seasonal crops which can grow well in the tropical and sub-tropical regions, all around the world.
